and still the rain continues

i just got out of the shower - you would need a shower too if you had biked home in torrential rain, only to discover that you're covered in dirt and rain from going through the road, which is one big puddle. ick. let's not think about what's in that rain, especially given that it's china.

i kind of expected the rain to stop, since it's been raining in the evenings for quite a while, but it was not to be. the thunder and lightning started around 10:30pm, and we were still in studio. we left at 11, but loitered in the building's lobby, hoping the rain would let up, but when it didn't, we ran for our bikes. at that moment, i was definitely kicking myself for the extra lock i put on my bike after a few classmates' bikes got stolen.

so. riding your bike in rain is pretty easy, compared to riding your bike home through an ocean. add the lightning to that, and you get poor visibility, the lightning fear factor, car headlights that blind you, speed bumps that make you lose your balance, and an inch of rain on the roads. but i got home and realized that riding through that dirty wading pool was kind of...fun. fun, now that i'm sitting in my chair dry and clean. i bet there are still mosquitoes in my room, though.
